Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The Original Screenplay (Fantastic Beasts/Grindelwald)Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald –…
The Wizarding World journey continues... The powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured in New York with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escapes custody and sets about gathering followers, most of whom are unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world. Product Information: ISBN: 9781408711705 Author: j.K. The Doors of Perception: And Heaven and HellThe Doors of Perception: And Heaven and Hell
WITH A FOREWORD j.G. BALLARDIn 1953, in the presence of an investigator, Aldous Huxley took four-tenths of a gramme of mescalin, sat down and waited to see what would happen. When he opened his eyes everything, from the flowers in a vase to the creases in his trousers, was transformed., Huxley described his experience with breathtaking immediacy in The Doors of Perception. In its sequel Heaven and Hell, he goes on to explore the history and nature of mysticism. Still bristling with a sense of excitement and discovery, these illuminating and influential writings remain the most fascinating account of the visionary experience ever written.

The Complete Poems and Songs of Robert BurnsThe Complete Poems and Songs of Robert Burns
The Complete Poems and Songs of Robert Burns is a collection of poetical works, the scope of which is as varied as it is entertaining. Burns, the "ploughman poet," could write as easily about politics, history, Scottish nationalism, hatred for pomposity and social disadvantage, and the excitement of having illicit love affairs (of which he had many) as he could about nature and an admiration of beauty. This book contains the complete poems and songs of this remarkable man, with an introduction to and chronology of his life, a glossary of Scots words and indexes of title and first lines. If you like Robert Burns then you'll enjoy this comprehensive collection of his work. This hardback book measures: 23.4 x 16.5 x 3.5cm.

Macbeth (Wordsworth Classics)Macbeth (Wordsworth Classics)
Shakespeare's Macbeth is one of the greatest tragic dramas the world has known. Macbeth himself, a brave warrior, is fatally impelled by supernatural forces, by his proud wife, and by his own burgeoning ambition. As he embarks on his murderous course to gain and retain the crown of Scotland, we see the appalling emotional and psychological effects on both Lady Macbeth and himself. The cruel ironies of their destiny are conveyed in poetry of unsurpassed power. In the theatre, this tragedy remains perennially engrossing. This volume is part of the new Wordsworth Classics' Shakespeare Series, in which each text has been freshly edited by Professor Cedric Watts.Macbeth is a classic read and is extremely helpful for those studying at school. This paperback book has 128 pages and measures: 19.8 x 12.9 x 0.6cm.Amazon Review:One of Shakespeare's greatest, but also bloodiest tragedies, was written around 1605 to 1606. Many have seen the story of Macbeth's murder and usurpation of the legitimate Scottish King Duncan as having obvious connection to contemporary issues regarding King James I (James VI of Scotland), and the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. King James was particularly fascinated with witchcraft, so the appearance of the witches chanting "Fair is foul, and foul is fair" at the opening of the play seemed particularly topical, as was Macbeth's betrayal of Banquo, from whom James claimed direct descent. However, the play is clearly far more than a piece of royal entertainment. It is also a fast-moving and dramatically satisfying piece of theatre. Macbeth's existential struggle between loyalty to his King and his "Vaulting ambition" is fascinating to watch, as his is struggle with Lady Macbeth, and her own terrifying refusal of her maternal role. The play shows an intensification of Shakespeare's interest in mothers and their effect upon ruling masculinity, and also contains some of the most memorable speeches in the entire canon, including Macbeth's reflections that ultimately life "is a tale/Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,/Signifying nothing". --Jerry Brotton

Romeo and Juliet (Wordsworth Classics)Romeo and Juliet (Wordsworth Classics)
Edited, introduced and annotated by Cedric Watts, Research Professor of English Literature, University of Sussex. The Wordsworth Classics' Shakespeare Series presents a newly-edited sequence of William Shakespeare's works. The textual editing takes account of recent scholarship while giving the material a careful reappraisal., Romeo and Juliet is the world's most famous drama of tragic young love. Defying the feud which divides their families, Romeo and Juliet enjoy the fleeting rapture of courtship, marriage and sexual fulfilment; but a combination of old animosities and new coincidences brings them to suicidal deaths. This play offers a rich mixture of romantic lyricism, bawdy comedy, intimate harmony and sudden violence., Long successful in the theatre, it has also generated numerous operas, ballets and films; and these have helped to make Romeo and Juliet perennially topical.

Othello (Wordsworth Classics)Othello (Wordsworth Classics)
This is an intense drama of love, deception, jealousy and destruction. Desdemona's love for Othello, the Moor, transcends racial prejudice; but the envious Iago conspires to devastate their lives. In its vivid rendering of racism, sexism, contested identities, and the savagery lurking within civilisation, Othello is arguably the most topical and accessible tragedy from Shakespeare's major phase as a dramatist.A brilliant book with an interesting plot, perfect for home and school reading. This paperback book measures: 19.8 x 12.9 x 0.9cm.
